“We are honored to participate in the Voices of Health Campaign and are extremely grateful to our community for supporting us with their votes,” said HFTH leader. “We are fortunate enough to be able to provide programs and services to more than 180,000 people each year, and the grand prize will help us continue to lift people from poverty to self-reliance every day. We thank Aetna on behalf of our community, and most importantly, the people we serve.”
Who We Are:
Hosea Feed the Hungry is one of the largest organizations in the Southeast providing direct services to homeless individuals and low-income families. HFTH’s programs lift people from poverty to self-reliance everyday.
What We Do:
Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless (HFTH) provide services that include case management, rental and utility assistance, food distribution, counseling and employment assistance. HFTH’s “Homeless Prevention” program is an award winning initiative credited with helping place thousands of families in permanent housing.
The organization was founded in 1969 by civil rights activist, Rev. Hosea Williams. He and his wife Juanita Williams began cooking meals at home and delivering them in the back of their car to people in the East Atlanta neighborhood. This compassionate gesture began as a tradition of services to the needy and has transformed into one of the most respected organizations in the country. Today, the organization provides programs and services to over 180,000 people annually.
